KP to Lift Tourism Restrictions on June 9

Azam Khan Swati, the federal minister for narcotics has said that the province would be lifting the tourism restrictions on June 9.

He told local media that the economy of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa majorly depends on the tourism industry, so PM Khan and the CM Mahmood Khan have mutually taken the decision to permit to resume the tourist activities in the province from Tuesday that is the 9th of this month.

The minister said that if only the tourism industry of Kaghan is analyzed, it would be noticed that how badly the corona lockdown had impacted it and had led to job loss of many people.

He also added that the government does not want to waste any more time as half of the tourism season has elapsed and intends to reopen the industry making sure that all the stakeholders linked to the tourism industry which includes the transporters, hoteliers follow the issued SOPs.

The minister also said that the people did not abide by the government provided directives on the prevention of COVID-19, so lockdown could be tightened.
