Tourism is flourishing in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province ever since the government has relaxed the lockdown and has allowed all the tourist spots to reopen. The tourist sites were reopened in the month of August.
Asad Umar, the Planning and Development Minister made the announcement on Thursday that the government has taken the decision of reopening the dine-in restaurants, parks, gyms, cafes, and cinemas from the 10th of August after like a gap of 5 months. All these spots had been closed for curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
As per the details shared by the Tourism Department of KP, as many as 2,681,000 tourists have visited the province of KP from the 13th of August to date. More than seven lac tourists are presently living in the different districts of the province.
Abbottabad has got the biggest number of visitors as more than 1,718,000 tourists have visited the area. More than six lac visitors have visited Swat to refresh themselves.
Earlier in August, it came out that the government of KP had taken the decision of transforming the small dams into picnic spots.
Regarding this, the government has started to transform 5 dams into picnic spots for the public at the start.
Chattri Dam Haripur, Jalozai Dam Nowshera, Jhangra Dam Abbottabad, and Kundar Dam in Swabi are being transformed into picnic places.
