The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has distributed burqas among the schoolgirls.
The KP government has distributed these burqas among the female students in the model school of girls in Cheena Village of Rustam Valley.
As per the pictures making rounds on the social media, the authorities with the aid of funds given by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ex-district council member—Muzaffar Shah, distributed 69 burqas among the students in the girls’ school.
The development came after the provincial government took the decision of making it a must for the female students of government-run schools to cover themselves up in the educational institutions with an abaya, chador or grown for the protection against unethical incidents harassment.
However, after facing the extensive public criticism the KP Chief—Minister Mahmood Khan instructed the authorities to withdraw the mandatory burqa order.
