For boosting the tourism industry, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made the announcement that it would soon be starting a helicopter service for making it easier for the tourists to reach famous tourists’ locations.
Many of the tourist’s destinations of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are hard to reach owing to the lack of infrastructure and hard land. Considering this, the government of KP has taken the decision of starting a helicopter service to Kalam Valley—Swat, Kumrat area of Upper Dir and Chitral District.
Kalam Valley is located 90 kilometres from the Mingorah of Swat city, however, it takes nearly 5 hours to reach the valley owing to the road conditions which are not properly carpeted. Travelling on these roads gets worse in summers because these roads are also narrow.
For reaching Chitral, tourists first need to go to Upper Dir via Lower Dir. The road conditions make the journey tiring for the travellers. During winters, it’s kind of gets impossible to travel as the Lowari Tunnel closes because of snowfall.
Travelling to Kumrat valley is more or less the same. To reach the valley a 4×4 vehicle needs to be taken from the Thal Bazar of Upper Dir. It is tough to travel on the 20-kilometre-long track because of the absence of a proper road.
