The Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has been directed by the Chief Minister of KP Mahmood Khan to take action against all the illegal and unregistered water connections across the province.
CM KP further directed the authorities to ensure the legalization and registration of all water connections within the period of the next two months.

The directives have also been issued by the CM to undertake measures in those areas of District Karak where the water has been contaminated due to the radioactive ores which is causing serious health hazards for the local population.
He further said that complete study into the issue should be conducted and all the relevant stakeholders should be consulted to come up with a solution.
He stated that the development schemes for the water supply will be included in the next ADP for those areas currently facing the water shortages so that the provision of clean drinking water may be ensured in all areas of the province.
While chairing a review meeting of the Public Health Engineering Department, a Special Assistant to the CM on PHR Riaz Khan informed CM Khan that 72589 illegal water connections have been identified out of which 4930 has been regularized whereas a target of Rs218 million, under the water charges recovery, will be achieved during the current financial year.
