KIA Rio 2018 is out there being displayed at the KIA Lucky motors Pakistan showrooms, the car has the ability to catch eyes at first glance, KIA Rio 2018 is now being discussed among car enthusiasts for its built quality, features and price.

The estimated price according to pakwheels is Rs14 lacs or 1.4 million for its 1.0 variant. However, the car which is currently being displayed in the showroom of KIA Lucky motors is Korea assembled and carries the engine 1.4L.

The estimated price would be enough to think about by the rivals, Suzuki, Toyota and Honda, it could give fierce competition to them in the local market.

KIA motors have already signed an agreement with the government and Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP) to produce the vehicles locally in Pakistan. Kia is expected to start manufacturing in the country by next year, however, consumers are worried about the cars assembled in Pakistan, they believe that the cars assembled in Pakistan would be of inferior quality, lacking features and higher price than the one being displayed currently.

The South Korean Motor company has unveiled its 4th generation Kia Rio at Paris Motor Show in 2016. The 4th generation Kia Rio is a hatchback, front wheel/four wheel drive subcompact.

Rio 2018 is an update of the model with a sportier design and look and extended exterior dimensions as compared to its previous 3rd generation models. Kia Rio is available in three different variants S, LS, EX, the company is planning to bring 1.0L engine option in Pakistan.

After the success of Kia Rio the company is now focusing more on expansion, globally the company has sold more than 437,000 units in 2015 which makes Rio the most successful model for Kia.

KIA now focuses on Pakistani market aggressively, the company has recently announced various models in Pakistan including Kia Picanto, Kia Sportage, Kia Grand Carnival and K2700 pickup.

The company has recently launched KIA motors websites in Pakistan and started hiring workforce as well.

If Kia is able to produce and sell the vehicle Rio 2018 under Rs1.5 million then it could create wonders in the market.

As the car being displayed currently is manufactured in Korea includes various interesting features such as Bi-projection headlamps, radiator grill for smooth airflow, electric folding mirrors, aero blade wipers, parking distance warning-reverse, Antilock braking system (ABS), 6 airbags side and front, 7 inches infotainment system, climate control, cup holders,  and some others.

If this car is able to hit the market at the said price, it could jolt the big three’s market it could adversely impact Suzuki’s Cultus and Swift sales as well as the imports of Japanese Toyota cars including Passo and Vitz.

Many fear that big three wouldn’t let the company launch this car in the given price, however, KIA motors might launch it at the given price but in that case many useful features of the car would be taken away when assembled in Pakistan in order to meet and compete for the existing cars in the market.
