On Tuesday KE announced that it would be extending the load shedding hours in Karachi owing to the shortage of furnace oil, as per the reports of local media.
The spokesperson of the Karachi Electric (KE) mentioned in a statement that the sole power supplier of the city is facing continuous challenges due to the inconsistent supply of the furnace oil in accordance with its demand.
He added that the present situation has further exceeded late Friday night because of the unanticipated fault in the Bin Qasim Power Station (BQPS-1).
The city residents kept on facing the long power outages hours even during the hot heatwaves and the pandemic of coronavirus.
Twelve hours of announced and unannounced load-shedding in the city has made the people frustrated especially the ones who are also infected by the virus and are isolated at their residences.
The city residents asked the federal and Sindh government for taking notice of the long hours of load shedding in the city amid the hot weather and coronavirus pandemic.
