Karachi is to receive monsoon showers from the 1st of July, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The met department has said that the monsoon season would begin from the 1st of July and the rain is expected in various parts of the city.
The city weather turned pleasant after different parts of the metropolis got light to heavy rainfall on the 21st of June. As per the Met department, the rain was part of a pre-monsoon spell.
Previously this month, the Met department had given out a heatwave alert for the residents of Karachi in wake of the Cyclone Vayu.
The Cyclone Vayu caused a decrease in the sea breeze which caused a heat wave. Temperatures differed between 36 °C and 38 °C.
The University of Karachi has taken the decision of increasing the fees from the start of the next academic year, that is of 2020.
The decision of surging the fees has been taken in light of the budget presented by the Centre for the year 2019-2020. The decision that by which percentage the fees would be increased is yet to be taken. However, it is decided that the increased fee would be applied both on the professional and non-professional departments of the university.
