On a forum on cooperation between China and Pakistan friendship and cities, Urumqi, Xian, and Puyang were announced as sister cities to Karachi, Gwadar, and Multan respectively. The forum was arranged on Thursday for further strengthening the ties between the two countries.
Agreements were signed between Pakistani and Chinese officials in separate divisions.
As the chief guest on the occasion—the federal minister of IPC—Dr Fehmida Mirza who was also leading the Pakistani delegation said that Pakistan highly values its ties and mutual cooperation with China.
She on behalf of the Pakistanis acknowledged and applauded the support of China to Pakistan in the current situation and for playing role in decreasing the tension in South Asia.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that the last visit of Prime Minister—Imran Khan to China was fruitful as it has opened up many new ventures of cooperation.
CPEC was a basic ground of Belt and Road Initiative under which many of the early started projects have reached completion especially in the sectors of infrastructure and energy.
Lin Yi—the Vice President, CPAFFC welcomed the guests and said that 25,000 Pakistani students who are currently studying in China would further boost the ties between the two nations.
She said that the Chinese government has set up a vocational training school and hospital for the welfare and betterment of the local-ites.
