Killing is the most unforgiving act but we have made classes and status in that too. Well if you are a Christian or a Hindu, your life is important, but if you are a Muslim, your life and death mean nothing.
The government of Myanmar is carrying a genocide against 1.3 million Muslims of Rohingya and the world is quiet.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein said “The devastating cruelty to which these Rohingya children have been subjected is unbearable – what kind of hatred could make a man stab a baby crying out for his mother’s milk. And for the mother to witness this murder while she is being gang-raped by the very security forces who should be protecting her.”
Let’s say you do have an absolutely logical reason for the killings. How can anyone justify the slaughter of small babies, destruction of entire villages, burning of food supplies? How can anyone possibly justify rape and sexual assault of innocent Muslim women?
What we need is unity. If the international community is not with us, let’s at least stop this through our voice on social media. Let’s support petition like “Stop Genocide of Rohingya Muslims. Put Sanctions on Myanmar” and make our voice heard. If we do nothing, it means we are allowing West to believe we are helpless. Silence at this time would be similar to supporting the brutal killings. The least we can do is support those who are trying to intervene the mass killing.
