A Japanese firm, which is operating in 501 sectors throughout the world, showed interest in working with the LNG sector of Pakistan.
A delegation of the NYK company, headed by its LNG businesshead, showed the willingness during a meeting with the Petroleum Minister—Ghulam Sarwar Khan. The minister applauded the interest shown by the delegation and appreciated it regarding the energy requirements of Pakistan and investment opportunities.
The delegation also gave briefing to the minister about the firm’s operations and achievements in the various nations, along side the handling of ninety per cent LNG terminals in Japan.

The firm could set up the LNG storage facilities in Pakistan and play a significant role in ending the imbalance of gas supply made especially in the peak winter season.
Recently it was also announced that Japan would be giving 20 fully funded scholarships to the federal government officers of Pakistan for studying at the universities in Japan. The scholarships have been offered under the Human Resource Development Scholarship project. The scholarship program would be starting from the summers of the next year.
