The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) and Japan have agreed on a 500 million yen grant agreement, which includes 29 vehicles and other equipment for waste management.
According to details, a grant agreement for solid waste management has been signed between Japan and Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation. The signing ceremony of the grant agreement was held at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Noor Ahmed and the Ambassador of Japan signed the agreement. The total cost of the grant is 500 million yen, including 29 vehicles and other equipment for waste management.
On the occasion, the Japanese Ambassador said that the Government of Japan would continue its economic cooperation with Pakistan while Secretary Noor Ahmad thanked the Government of Japan for the grant for waste management.
The Secretary Economic Affairs said that Japan has always helped Pakistan in dealing with natural calamities, floods, earthquakes, and other calamities for which the Government of Pakistan is grateful to the Government and people of Japan and hoped that in future Cooperation between the two countries will further increase. It may be recalled that a few days ago, Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari had a meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Konnori Matsuda. The Japanese Ambassador had said that Japan is in dire need of trained people in IT and nursing care and IT trained manpower can be applied in Pakistan.
