The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced same-day driving license project with the objective to facilitate the residents of Islamabad.
ITP conducted its 13th birthday celebrations, which were attended by Shehryar Khan Afridi—The Minister of State for Interior, Khalid Rasheed—SP Traffic, Waqar Ahmed Chohan—DIG Security, Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan—IGP Islamabad, representatives of ICITAP, INL and many others.
The ITP took the decision to reduce the present fees and ten days limit. The current fee is of Rs 2,650 that has been reduced to Rs2,250, while the immediate fee of Rs400 has also been ended.
As per the officials, they were sure of making ITP much more service oriented. The citizens could now apply and get their driving licenses on the same very day with decreased fees.
Shehryar Khan Afridi—the Minister of State for Interior mentioned in his opening remarks that he applauds the performance of Islamabad Traffic Police and his team. He also said that since the joining of the new IGP, many things have changed for good. The new IGP has taken positive steps in maintain peace and justice. He also mentioned that his government wants to see the honour and dignity of Pakistani citizens at all levels and added that the people should get respect by the government officials.
He also mentioned that his only purpose was to ensure that government servants show professionalism and should stay away with the colonial approach.
