Islamabad to be Established as A “Clean Green Model City”; Says Adviser PM

Malik Amin Aslam—the adviser to the PM on Climate Change on Wednesday said that Islamabad would be developed as a “clean green model city” under the vision of the PM Khan, as per the reports of local media.

Malik Amin while chairing a high-level meeting said that strict action would be taken against the misuse of green belts while the encroachments would be removed for assuring the green spirit of the master plan of Islamabad.

As per a statement by the ministry, he said that the concerned departments would be providing data on number of green belts, encroachments and master plan of the city.

The statement further reads that the issue of throwing garbage on green belt, unlawful and authorized car parking on such locations and violation by the cooperative housing societies also came under the meeting discussions.

The advisor also informed the participants that 10 billion tree tsunami projects had a special clean and green element for the federal capital.

He ordered the representatives of the CDA, MCI and ICT for presenting their plans so that could both be incorporated.

Power tariff is to increase by Rs.1.86 per unit.

As per the reports of local media, CPPA has asked NEPRA to increase the electricity prices by Rs.1.86 per unit for fuel adjustments.
