Islamabad Administration To Crack Down Against Land Mafia

After Lahore, the district administration of Islamabad has also decided to take action against the land mafia groups and has prepared a list of 80 members of these groups. A special committee has also been formed to crack down on the land occupation mafia.

According to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat, Islamabad Police, Administration and CDA have formed a committee for a grand operation against the land mafia/occupation group. The task of this committee will be to take action and take immediate legal action on complaints against the Land Mafia on a daily basis. The committee comprises Land Collector Islamabad Administration Kamran Cheema and SP Islamabad Police Farhat Kazmi.

According to the deputy commissioner, the committee will take legal action by immediately relinquishing possession of government land. Legal action will be taken against the organized mafia groups and facilitators and they will be exposed to the public.

A list of 80 masterminds of the occupation/land mafia has also been prepared against whom action will be taken. The list includes details of so-called rural occupation groups including Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Jhangi Syedan ​​land/occupation groups.

The administration has decided that immediate action will be taken on any complaint of land grabbing by the public. The committee will also be bound to immediately implement the applications submitted to the Citizen Portal and the concerned police station.

The ban will prevent harassment of citizens and monitor the movement of vehicles used by the land mafia. Similarly, action will be taken to recover the weapons used by them. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad issued orders for action against vehicles with tinted windows and revocation of permits for possession of all types of weapons. According to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the previously issued arms permits have been cancelled from Friday.
