Islamabad customs officials raided a warehouse of Shaheen Chemist and recovered a huge quantity of fake food supplements from the godowns.
Islamabad tweeted, “Under the supervision of Ayesha Wani, the Additional Collector Customs #Islamabad huge quantity of fake food supplements were recovered from the godowns of famous #Shaheen_Chemist.”
Additional Collector of Islamabad Customs Ayesha Wani conducted the raid on basis of a tip.
Islamabad administration has sealed medical stores of Shaheen Chemist and D-Watson but it is not because of the supply of fake medicines.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner tweeted, “Teams of Islamabad Administration and Pakistan Customs are inspecting various pharmacy and cosmetics outlets around the city. We have sealed major stores in I-8, F-10, and F-11 for failing to provide requisite documents. Operation is going on.”
In another tweet, the Deputy Commissioner clarified, “We clarify that at the moment we have not found any fake medicine in Islamabad. The video that went viral is of a godown in Pindi. The stores in Islamabad are being sealed for the absence of import docs/sales invoices. As soon as docs are presented the shops will be desealed.”
Shaheen and D-Watson are the leading medical providers in the twin cities. It is essential that if the companies are selling fake medicines be it in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, they are penalized for it.
