Iranian parliament declares Pentagon as ‘terrorist group’

In response to the assassination of the Iranian General Qassim Soleimani, the parliament of Iran on Tuesday unanimously voted for a motion to designate the US Army and the Pentagon as the terrorist organizations.

The lawmakers of the Iranian parliament approved the emergency motion subjected to “amend a bill that countermeasures against the US recent crime.”

As per the details, the motion on amending the countermeasures was approved by as many as 223 lawmakers who agreed on the generalities and details of the emergency motion.

Iran vowed to take revenge after the assassination of Iranian General Qassim Soleimani who was killed in an airstrike which was carried out over the orders of the President of the United States Donald Trump on Friday.

It is pertinent to mention here the US airstrike also killed the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashed al-Shaabi, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

On Monday, Mark Esper—the Defense Secretary of the United States said that the United States has no plans to pull its troops out of Iraq.

“There’s been no decision whatsoever to leave Iraq,” Esper told Pentagon reporters. He further added that there were no plans issued to prepare to leave.
