Inzamam-ul-Haq resigns as a chief selector after World Cup defeat and criticism

After serving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for over three years, the chief selector of cricket team Inzamam-ul-Haq on Wednesday announced that he won’t seek a renewal of his contract.

While talking to media at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, he said that he will resign from the post of the head of the selection committee after his contract is over.

As per the details, the contract of Inzamam-ul-Haq will be ended on July 30.

He said that it is the right time for the cricket tribunal to appoint the new chief selector ahead of the Test Championship, T20I World Cup 2020, and the Cricket World Cup 2023.

“The new chief selector will bring the fresh ideas and thinking,” he added.

Haq further maintained that he would accept the offer made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) if he is chosen for another post. He further said that a good team was selected for the recent World Cup 2019 in England which defeated both the finalists.
