18th International Textile Asia Exhibition concluded successfully and brought $375 million investment in Pakistan. It was a three-day expo and it appealed many foreign companies to collaborate and work with domestic companies of Pakistan.
The expo was a joint collaboration of Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) and E-Commerce Gateway Pakistan. 500 foreign investors were part of the exhibition from all over the world, Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, USA
“The three-day event is the Pakistan’s biggest trade show in this category, B2B, Value added Textile, Garments, Embroidery, Digital printing Machines, Chemicals, and Allied Services are the major products to be showcased in the event, said PRGMEA vice chairman, Jawad A Chaudhry.” He further said that the machinery displayed in the expo was of a high quality that will be used to produce products that will, in turn, boost the export of Pakistan.
Ijaz Khokhar, PRGMEA Central Chairman said that many Chinese companies have shown keen interest to start their textile business in Punjab. Each company is ready to invest $25m for the project. He said, “We will make JVs with local companies from Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad, providing training to the engineers from these cities of manufacturing spare parts of sewing and textile machinery and buy back them to export to China,” he added.
CEO Dr. Khurshid Nizam said that the goal of the exhibition is to promote the textile industry of Punjab at international level. It provided an opportunity for small local textile companies to show their talent in front of at least 300 international brands from all over the globe.
To promote Pakistani Textile Industry to other Asian countries, Textile Asia Event has been quite successful in the past during Textile Asia 2015 and 2016 event in Lahore. Repeating the history International Textile Exhibition 2017 was a huge success as well.
