Pakistan is expecting to get international funding of nearly $300 million from Global Fund, which was $200 million previously.
In a statement from the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination, it was denied that international funding has been revoked. The ministry rather told that they’re expecting to get more than before.
On the contrary, Marriyum Aurangzeb of PML-N expressed that the international financing organization is dissatisfied with Pakistan’s performance in utilizing the funds.
In defense of PML-n’s stance, the ministry said that the international financing organization demand Pakistan to pay special focus on HIV Aids, and TB and increase the funding accordingly.
According to the ministry of health, the meeting with Global Fund has been progressive and they’re with the government of Pakistan in fighting with these deadly diseases.
The ministry also informed that the federal government has also forced to increase the grant twice to fight back against these diseases. The government will be closely monitoring the utilization of the grants in the relevant domains by all provinces.
It’s highly important for the government and for the people to work honestly and use the international grant as it should be, and must not be a victim of another corruption case.
