The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has taken the decision of launching an Insaf Emergency Cab Service within the province for picking up patients in an emergency situation from their doorsteps.
According to an official statement the idea was presented in a meeting that was headed by Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan—the Health Minister. During the time the meeting was in progress, they planned of starting an Insaf Emergency Cab Service at the district and tehsil headquarter hospitals, rural health centres and at the basic health units.
This cab service would prove effective in transporting emergency patients, to the hospitals from their homes, provided that there are no dedicated ambulances for the purpose. In this way, quick health services would then be accessible to the general public.
It was instructed by the provincial health minister to the concerned authorities that they should make all the required arrangement in this matter. The Insaf Emergency Cab Service would be helping the poor patients in the far away areas of the province, particularly the ones in the merged districts for reaching the hospitals in time.
He further stated that the government would be taking strict action against the ones who remain ignorant in fulfilling their duties. The minister promised to abide by the reward and punishment system for placing everything in the correct path.
The meeting was explained that the cabs for the service would be arranged by the provincial health department.
