According to a study conducted by researchers from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad and other researchers, India has the world’s smallest brains.
The project developed the “first Indian human brain atlas”. In the research, it was revealed that there is a difference in the shape and size of Indian, Chinese, Korean and Caucasian brains.
In comparison with the western and other eastern populations, the brain size of Indians in smaller in height, width, and volume.
This finding was revealed by researchers from Indian varsity IIIT Hyderabad and other educational institutes.
The study will help in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease and other diseases related to the brain.

The first digital human brain atlas has been created by the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) in Canada, and the International Consortium for Brain Mapping (ICBM). It was created by using the brain MRI scans of 305 young normal Caucasian subjects.
The Indian brain was compared with the Chinese and Korean brain, they were the same in length but different in height and width. But the researchers have not revealed any functional dissimilarities in different populations due to deviation in brain size.
Basically, brain atlas is a brain map that can be used to measure abnormalities of the brain.
