Government has been given by recommendation by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to increase the petrol and diesel prices as global oil prices are witnessing fluctuation.
It is proposed by OGRA to increase the petrol price by Rs4.71 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs 8.06 per litre, light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs 5.12 per litre and diesel price by Rs9.44 per litre for the month of March 2019.
The summary has been sent to the Ministry of Energy Petroleum division by Ogra in which it has been recommended to revise the oil prices.
If the recommendation is accepted by the government the diesel price will increase to Rs 116.12 from Rs 106.68 per litre. Petrol price will increase to Rs 95.09 to Rs 90.38 per litre. Light diesel oil price will increase to Rs 80.15 from Rs 75.03 per litre. Kerosene price will increase to R s90.37 from Rs 82.31 per litre.
The government will take the final decision regarding petroleum product prices today.
