Increase in Per Unit Electricity Prices in Karachi

There has been an increase in the per unit electricity prices in Karachi. This has come as another sad news for the Karachi citizens.

As per the shared details, the electricity prices in Karachi have surged by Rs.2.89 per unit.

As per the notice released by the power division, the electricity prices per unit have surged from Rs.1.09 to Rs.2.89 per unit.

Previously, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given approval to a surge of Rs.0.83 per unit in the electricity tariff on Thursday.

As per the details, the NEPRA notice mentioned that the increase in price was made in relation to the fuel price adjustment that was made in the month of July.

The notification further read, that the surge would be collected in the bills of October, but, the increase in the prices of power would not be applicable to the customers of Karachi Electric.

On the other hand, the Met Department has forecasted heatwave in Karachi for a duration of the next 6 to 8 days.
