Inauguration of a New Infectious Diseases Hospital in Islamabad

On Thursday, Asad Umar Federal Minister for Planning said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to inaugurate an Isolation hospital and infectious treatment center in Islamabad today.

The federal minister wrote on Twitter that a 250-beds isolation center has been constructed in just forty days.

He tweeted that a specialized 250-beds infectious diseases hospital will be inaugurated today in Islamabad by PM Imran Khan. Moreover, he wrote that the hospital has been constructed by the National Disaster Management Authority within forty days in order to meet the needs because of the coronavirus.

In the last twenty-four hours, Pakistan has reported 3,359 new cases of COVID-19 which raised the total tally to 240, 847.

Sixty-one people lost their lives among these new cases. The total death toll has increased to 4, 983 as per the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

In the previous 24 hours, 24, 333 coronavirus tests were conducted out of which 3,359 were reported positive. In total 145, 311 patients have recovered from the deadly disease, and 90, 594 patients are still undergoing treatment.

So far, 145, 311 patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus. This shows that there has been an improvement in the number of recoveries.

In Pakistan, 84, 587 cases have been reported in Punjab, 99, 362 in Sindh, 29, 052 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11, 052 in Balochistan, 1, 459 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 13, 731 in Islamabad and 1, 605 in Gilgit Baltistan.
