The airplane that was carrying Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his delegation back to Pakistan was rerouted and it made an emergency landing at the New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will be spending the night at the Roosevelt Hotel, the same place where he stayed during his week-long stay in the US.
It is pertinent to mention here that PM Khan gave a historic speed at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in which he highlighted four important issues. He talked about climate change, poverty, Islamophobia and mass massacre in Kashmir.
He was heading back to Pakistan, however, due to a technical fault in the plane, it was rerouted to New York. The US security forces took control of the hotel upon the return of PM Imran Khan.
The reports stated that the engineer found a minor issue in the plane as it was near Toronto. Thus, it returned back to New York as a safety measure. The issue is being fixed by the aviation technicians.
Special Assitant to Prime Minister, Naeem ul Haq tweeted, “Due to technical fault in the plane, Prime Minister Imran Khan will be spending the night back at the hotel in New York.”
