According to the information, PTI chief and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan summoned the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar for a meeting on Monday (today) to provide an explanation over the bill passed by the Punjab Assembly seeking a huge increase in the salaries of the assembly members.
According to the details, Punjab Assembly passed a bill last week that approved an increment in the salaries of the provincial assembly’s members.
The next day, Prime Minister Imran Khan posted a Tweet to express his extreme disappointment over the bill, saying that it was ‘untenable’ in the current situation when Pakistan [does] not have resources to provide basic amenities to its people.
The details said that after the approval of the bill, the salary of the speaker provincial assembly had raised from Rs37,000 to Rs200,000 per month and the deputy speaker of the provincial assembly would get Rs185,000 instead of Rs35,000 along with cabinet members and advisors.
MPAs of the Punjab Assembly are now entitled to Rs80,000 rather than Rs18,000 per month, and the entitlement of the utility bills of the MPAs has raised up to Rs200,000 rather than Rs120,000.
Not a single member of the Punjab Assembly opposed the bill and was passed within a few minutes.
