ICT (Islamabad Capital Territory) administration has planned on launching a disinfection spray drive in the capital city so that the spread of the coronavirus can be controlled.
Recently, ICT partnered with Bahria Town Management and disinfected Bhara Kahu areas and Shehzad Town. In these areas, some people were tested positive with the virus. The administration also sprayed in the hospitals, Langer Khanas, Red Zone, Sabzi Mandi, and the Shelter homes.
A senior official of the district administration said that now they are planning to spray the disinfectant in all residential sectors and other areas in Islamabad. The drive was also conducted in those areas particularly where some of the people were tested positive with COVID-19.
On Friday, a limited number of people went to the mosques to offer prayers in both the cities; Islamabad and Rawalpindi as the notification was issued by the Auqaf Department which said that only 4-5 people belonging to the mosque administration will only be allowed to offer the Friday prayers.
The district administration tried hard to stop the spread of the virus by limiting people to their homes but still, the motorists were seen on the roads of both the cities. Now the restrictions on the people to stay at their homes have increased by police and people are requested to not to come out of the houses unnecessarily.
The cases are increasing day by day and the total number of the affected people in the country has risen to 2,458. In the twin cities, rangers and police have been positioned to all the entry and exit points of the cities to restrict the motorists coming from other parts of the country.
The rangers and police have put up a special blockade at the 9th Avenue, Faizabad and Sabzi Mandi Chowk.
