During the launch event of Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design & Huawei Mate 10, the CEO of Huawei’s consumer business section, Richard Yu shared an interesting information with the reporters while being interviewed.
Yu said that Huawei is already working on the design model of foldable smartphone. Huawei will not be launching its foldable device in 2017. It might make its first debut during the next year, the time when foldable Galaxy X is expected to be released by Samsung.
It appears that LG and Samsung are not the only companies busy with the designing of foldable smartphones.
Huawei is anticipating to try on much improved flexible screen technology and it is also working to manufacture a better mechanical design than what it is presently offering. Yu also added that Huawei currently have two screens, but there is still some gap which is not good and Huawei should get rid of it.
The CEO was very positive relating the company’s future. He has hopes that Huawei would become number one smartphone manufacturer in the world at some time in the future, surpassing both Apple and Samsung in the course.
Huawei does most of its business in Asia and Europe. It is planning to expand its business to the United States. If it intends to attain the number one position then capturing the US market would be a good move.
