Huawei P30 Pro To Use Google Services From May 15 With Tricked License

Huawei P30 Pro

Because of the US embargo, Huawei no longer receives licenses for new smartphones from Google. In order to still be able to offer models with Google services, the manufacturer is once again using a trick. The P30 Pro can be offered as a “New Edition” with Google from May 15th.

If you don’t get a new license, you simply use an old one

For Huawei, the US embargo means that their own Android smartphones are losing their appeal – after all, Google services such as Google Play, Maps, Mail, and others cannot be offered for new models. In order to counter the declining sales figures outside of China, the manufacturer uses a license trick. Smartphone models that received the official blessing from Google before the embargo can also keep it – this also applies to identical models. After the P30 Lite, this tactic is now also used on the P30 Pro.

The Huawei P30 Pro with a full Google suite will be available in Europe very soon. An official announcement is still pending, but a promotion on the website of Huawei Germany provides new details here: Accordingly, the “P30 Pro New Edition” is part of a campaign that runs from May 15, 2020, to June 4, 2020, and in this Frame available at Vodafone and otelo. Huawei’s support only confirms that the device should be presented “soon”.

No information about changes

It is currently unknown what Huawei makes adjustments to the “New Edition” of the P30 Pro. If you follow the model of the new edition of the P30 Lite, the model could bring more RAM and main memory. New color variations are also conceivable. In addition, Huawei is hand-tied when it comes to adjustments, so as not to run the risk of losing the Google license.
