The leading Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei has offered to develop a cyber security center in Poland. In January the authorities arrested a Chinese workers of a telecommunications company and an ex- Polish security official over spying charges.
Head of Huawei in Poland Tonny Bao said, “We are ready to establish a cyber security center in Poland if authorities accept this as a trusted solution.”
Huawei has developed information security labs both in Germany and Britian. The aim is to disseminate this that its equipment does not contain “back doors” for the intelligence services of China.
Due to the security concerns raised by United States regarding Huawei technology, the government of Poland decided to remove Huawei equipment from its 5G network.
The regional public affairs director of Huawei Austin Zhang said that the government of Poland had no reason to remove Huawei from its future 5G network.
Zhang said, “If it does happen … we will try all our means to protect our business and reputation in Poland.”
U.S. envoy to the European Union said that United States wants to move people towards Western products, away from Huawei devices as it has shown concern over the security of Huawei products.
Huawei has clearly denied all these claims but still the international community is quite critical about its products.
