How Pakistanis Can Raise the Rupee Value against the US Dollar

Pak Rupee has depreciated over 20% in the past year and continues to devalue against the US Dollar, so much so that Bloomberg declared Pak Rupee as Asia’s worst currency. Now how can we, as people of Pakistan, raise the Rupee value against the US dollar.

First of all, let us all start to buy Rupees and ditch Dollars. We need to own our currency, close dollar accounts and buy Rupees.

Also one of the most important things right now is that we need to start purchasing our own products. Pakistan imports more than twice the products we export. From handbags, clothes, chocolates, cars, mobiles, all the products we own are imported.

So let us ditch the imported products. Stop using Gree, Kenwood, and Haier A/C and start using Dawlance.

Let us stop using toothpaste such as Colgate, Crest, and Oral-B and use our own dental products. Pakistan’s local clothing brands are so amazing, yet we look for products from brands like Levis, Nike, Adidas, and Timberland. Why? We blame the government for devaluation in Rupee, yet we don’t understand that we, the people, are the real culprits.

Going for imported cars, makes us seem cool, ignoring the fact that cars are locally assembled in Pakistan as well.

Why then do we go for everything imported? Why can’t we be Pakistani and Buy Pakistani? Let us not show our love for our country by using mere words and quotes, let us now prove it with our actions. Let us play our part in improving our economy because if we don’t, who will?
