On the instructions of Wasim Akhtar—the Mayor of Karachi on Tuesday, the Medical and Health Services Department has made an announcement to declare a state of emergency in the thirteen hospitals of KMC from the 24th to 26th of March during the Pakistan Super League final.
The hospitals included are Landhi Medical Complex, Gazdarabad General Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sarfaraz Rafique Shaheed Hospital, Spencer Eye Hospital, Sobhraj Maternity Hospital and Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases where special arrangements have been made to deal with any kind of situation. A minimum of fifty senior doctors, five hundred paramedical staff and two hundred nurses would be on duty round the clock during the state of emergency in these hospitals.

The mayor said that the PSL final would be made memorable for the Karachiites. Hosting the final match of the biggest cricket league of Pakistan is an honour for the city and the teams participating in the final would be getting the best welcome.
He added that other than declaring a state of emergency in the KMC hospitals and issuing high alert instructions, the rescue 112 ambulance service would also be made operational at the National Stadium during the PSL final. The city fire brigades and wardens have been assigned duties on the occasion as well. He informed that the route to the National Stadium would be decorated with welcoming banners and cutouts of the players of the final PSL match.
The Mayor informed that they are in constant touch with the provincial administration and other authorities in this regard and people of Karachi would be facilitated utmost to enjoy the historic event.
