The increase in sales of bikes in the country indicates that the growing middle-class population prefers bikes for commuting. In comparison to July-May 2016-17 period bike sales have gone up by 16.18% in 2017-18 fiscal year. The bike sales during July-May 2016-17 period were 501,393 units while in July-May 2017-18 the bike sales surged to 1,744,463 units.
