Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited, under the hood of Honda Motor Company, is proudly grabbing Pakistan’s auto market with its first locally manufactured 7-seater family Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
The company call this subcompact SUV the Bold Runabout (BR-V) and comes in two variants; (1) i-VTEC costing PKR 2.23 million and (2) i-VTEC S for PKR 2.33 million.
The Honda BR-V is a blend of 45% locally manufactured components and has a 1.5liter engine. Due to its local made parts, Honda BR-V distinguishably managed to reduce its price.
Honda Atlas in Pakistan has already captured its market share in the country and would cover even more simply by the low price of Honda BR-V.
The General Manager Sales and Marketing Nadeem Azam of Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited proudly said:
SUVs in Pakistan are too costly and are mostly out of range for many customers
With the price range we are offering, about 90% of customers can now afford the new variants, which will attract new as well as existing customers of other companies too.
SUVs are normally preferable in the cities. But Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited is also targeting the rural areas. The company believes that this 7-seater family vehicle would do much better when both the markets share an equal opportunity.
Previously, Suzuki has been ruling the auto-making industry of Pakistan. Honda Atlas believes that with a strategy like this, they’d be able to boost the hype and gain more profit.
CEO Toichi Ishiyama said:
Pakistan is a key market for Honda and as part of our business expansion; we are focusing on increasing our customer base and will be bringing a lot of new and innovative products in the future
The auto-manufacturing company also rolled out their futuristic plans when Nadeem Azam said that they intend to introduce hybrid cars but only later.
