It has been reported that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted bail to as many as 408 prisoners imprisoned at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi under the minor offenses due to the coronavirus fears.
According to the details, the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah approved the bail petitions of the 408 prisoners.
The high court has also constituted a committee to materialize the release of all the prisoners on bail. The committee included Director General Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), deputy commissioner, Inspector General (I.G.) Police and other concerned officials.
It is worth mentioning here that the district administration in the capital city of Islamabad had earlier decided to release the prisoners jailed over the minor crimes due to the fears of novel coronavirus spread in the overcrowded jails.
As per the details, the administration of the capital city of Islamabad had earlier decided to release 230 prisoners in the first phase on bail, jailed over minor offenses.
