The Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit Service (BRT) will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan today. Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan, and other provincial ministers and officials would also be present at the occasion.
The fares for BRT were revealed by the KP government last month. It was revealed that the prices would range from Rs.10 to Rs.50 depending on the distance traveled.
Now a detailed fares list has been released by the KP government, a few hours before the formal inauguration of BRT.
If the distance traveled is between 0.1 to 5km, it would cost Rs.10. If the distance traveled is between 5.1 to 10km the fare would be Rs.15. If the distance traveled is 10.1 to 15km it would cost Rs.20.
Similarly, if the distance traveled ranges from 15.1 to 20km, the fare would be Rs.25, from 20.1 to 25km the price would be Rs.30, from 25.1 to 30km the price would be Rs.35, from 30.1 to 35km the price would be Rs.40, from 35.1 to 40km the price would be 45 and from 40.1 or more the price would be Rs.50.
The BRT track stretches over a distance of 26km. It has 31 stations. The terminals are at Chamkani and Hayatabad. The buses in BRT fleet would be 450 that would have capacity for 95 people.
