The market timings have been finalized by the Punjab government amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. It will come in to effect from today.
It was announced by the Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal that the pharmacies and petrol pumps will be open for 24 hours every day from tomorrow.
Shops and markets will be permitted to continue their trade activities across the province from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Confectionary shops will be allowed to open between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Furthermore, Iqbal said that the decision to further tighten the lockdown measures will be finalized by the provincial government over the suggestions of the committee.
During the past 24-hours, Punjab reported 579 cases of the novel coronavirus. It increased the provincial tally to 20,656.
Punjab’s primary and secondary health care department spokesman said that overall 352 people lost their lives from the virus.
The spokesman said, “We have currently performed 209370 tests.”
Of the fresh coronavirus cases, 318 tested positive in Lahore, as per a spokesperson of the Punjab health department. More than 6124 people recovered from the virus in the province.
