The HEC (Higher Education Commission) has set up a fee of Rs.5,000 for Urgent Degree Verification. Previously, the fee was Rs.800 for the mentioned purpose.
Special booths have also been set up for this purpose at the headquarters and at all the regional offices.
According to HEC’s set target for urgent degree verification is Rs.500,000 per day. It would give way to additional profits of Rs.150 million yearly, which would help in overcoming the financial crises in the educational sector.
Tahir Zaidi, Director-General Attestation and Equivalence say that the new procedure would help in eliminating nepotism, with a guarantee that the needy people would be served on a priority basis.
The booth set up by the HEC which are dedicated in this work is distributed in the following way: 45 at the headquarters in Islamabad, 20 in Lahore, 15 in Karachi, 10 are built up in Quetta and the remaining 10 in Peshawar.
This new process would be commencing from the 15th July, Monday. Appointments could be booked on a priority basis for the urgent attestation with the help of an online portal created for such purpose. The booths will remain open from Monday-Friday.
