For enhancing the research collaboration, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is perusing faculty exchange between the educational institutions of Pakistan and Germany.
The statement was issued on Thursday, it stated that the HEC chairman—Dr Tariq Banuri met with a delegation of DAAD—Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, the German Academic Exchange Service. The meeting was held at the Commission Secretariat.
While conversing with the delegation the HEC chairman applauded the ongoing collaborative ventures between HEC and DAAD. He mentioned that Pakistani students who win HEC scholarships are hosted by Germany for study purposes, and the DAAD representatives try to provide utmost guidance to these students regarding academic problems.

He also said that both Pakistan and Germany needs to promote research collaboration. He said that HEC motivates the Pakistani students going abroad to German universities for developing networks and then coming back to the homeland for serving the country. He informed that nearly sixty PhDs have gone to Germany for higher studies this year.
German universities are good in diverse areas including Biology, Information Technology, Robotics, Mechatronics and other areas too.
Dr Tariq Banuri also said that the joint collaborations in academics rely on a two-way benefit and assists in strengthening the country-to-country bonds.
He also said that the Higher Education Commission is looking for faculty exchange between the Pakistani and German institutions.
He further added that both the countries need to recognize the potential areas in which they could grow the collaboration and seek the research initiatives.
