HEC Asks Govt. to Revise Budget


On Monday, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has asked the government to revise the budget as it was experiencing issues owing to the lack of funds.

As per the shared details, during a session of the Standing Committee on Education of the National Assembly, the HEC officials shared that the institution has not received the full amount that was allocated in the budget.

The session was led by Mian Najeebuddin Awisi while the lawmakers and others would be attending it.

While emphasizing that the budget has not been revised, the officials of the HEC said that the universities repeatedly asks for grants and they do not know that from where to meet this grants’ demand.

The commission has asked the standing committee to urge the government to surge its budget.

While briefing the committee on the online classes, the officials of the commission said that 113,614 out of the 118,331 courses are now being taught online.
