The heavy traffic entry has been banned in Islamabad for 7 hours on a daily basis by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). The aim of this initiative is to ensure that the flow of traffic is smooth especially during peak hours.
So no heavy traffic will be allowed to enter in the federal capital from 7 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 8 pm, as revealed by the ITP spokesperson.
The heavy traffic that will be entering from G.T road Lahore or going from G.T road Peshawar Motorway to Sabzi Mandi will not be allowed to enter in Islamabad.
The heavy traffic that will enter from Azad Kashmir through Murree, Bhara Kau, Kotli Sattrayn, Lehtrar road, Kahuta or Rawalpindi Kahuta road would not be allowed entry in the Capital.
According to the police spokesman, this initiative has been taken to make sure that there is a smooth flow of traffic in the Capital, especially during peak hours.
Accidents are increasing in the Capital on a daily basis and it was essential that such a step is taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic. This will be quite beneficial for the commuters and will save them time in reaching their desired destination.
