In order to ease connectivity and gain maximum benefits of trade, Gwadar will be linked with the central railways. Under multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Gwadar port will be connected with central railways.
A briefing was given by the Pakistan Railways officials to the Senate sub Committee with regard to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. It was decided that a railway track can be laid from Gwadar to Turbat and Mustang.

The officials revealed that the Railway is acquiring land for the project and the feasibility study of the project is already prepared. The lawmakers were informed that other than the present dangers Mustang and Pangore, the feasibility study for the project has been completed.
Under the convener ship of Senator John Kenneth Williams at Parliament House, the meeting of the subcommittee on Railways was held.
Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone of the new Gwadar International Airport. It is scheduled to be completed in three years’ time.
It is capable of handling ATR 72, Airbus A-300 and Boeing B-747 aircraft on both local and international routes. It is being developed under a Chinese grant. The airport will operate under an ‘Open Skies’ policy & it will be able to handle 30,000 tons of cargo.
