The teaser of the movie based on the life of world’s youngest Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai has been launched. As the inspiring, courageous young girl of Pakistan celebrates her 21st birthday today, her biopic ‘Gul Makai’ teaser has been released by the filmmakers.

Amjad Khan the director of the film said,  “When I first read about Malala, what struck me instantly was her courage and determination.”

Adding, “Writer Bhaswati Chakrabarty spent two-and-a-half years on research, ensuring that we got even the minutest detail right.”

The film is named Gul Makai as the director said, “I named it ‘Gul Makai’ because that was the pen name Malala used when reporting on the conditions that prevailed in her native place (Swat Valley, Pakistan). My film is a tribute to this young girl, who is out to a make a difference.”

‘Gul Makai’ basically highlights the struggles of a young girl and how she emerged victorious in the end.

Divya Dutta plays the leading role in the film. She said,  “When Amjad narrated the script to me, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this project. Films like these are few and far between and I am excited about it.”

“It is a powerful story, and every person, who has worked in this movie has done it for the right reason and with utmost dedication. I am happy to be associated with it,” said Atul Kulkarni who portrayed an important role in the movie.
