Wasim Akhtar Karachi Mayor told that the all the gravediggers at the KMC (Karachi Metropolitan Corporation) graveyards have been provided with safety kits so that they remain safe during the burial process.
Safety kits including all the protective equipment have been handed over to Iqbal Parvez in charge of KMC graveyards. The mayor also said to keep all the graveyards closed for Shab-e-Barat and not a single stall should stand outside the graveyards otherwise people will gather at a single spot and that can cause danger for many people’s health.
Wasim Akhter thanked people for cooperating and not visiting the graveyard on Shab-e-Barat. He asked everyone to pray from their homes especially for this global disease to end soon.
The mayor also stated that everything will get back to normal if the people keep on cooperating with the government. He asked people not to lose hope, this disease is like a test from Allah and he will get us out of it.
He further advised Iqbal Parvez to cooperate with citizens and continue the burial process and also asked him to allow only the close relatives of the demise to attend the funeral.
