In order to promote the tourism in the twin cities, the authorities have decided to start a double-decker bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Asif Mehmood—Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Horticulture and Tourism said that the government has decided to start double-decker buses in Rawalpindi and Islamabad after Eid-ul-Fitr to promote the culture of Potohar region.
He said that the project was delayed due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country, but now the double-decker bus service will be launched after the Eid.
An advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab said that the buses will be operated by the Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) and the main terminal of the buses will be constructed at the Allama Iqbal Park Double Road, Rawalpindi.
He further said that initially, one bus will be operated and local people can benefit from this plan as well.
According to the details of the project, in the federal capital of Islamabad, the tourists will visit different tourist spots including Faisal Mosque, Marghrzar Zoo, Daman-e-Koh, Constitution Avenue, Lok Virsa, Pakistan Museum of Natural History and Shakarparian.
