Govt. to launch massive tree plantation drive soon.

There was a 3-day Asia Regional Conference inaugurated today in Islamabad by the Prime Minister.

While addressing the seventh Asian Regional Conservative Forum of International Union for Conservation of Nature PM Khan said that the government’s utmost priority is to protect the country’s environment.

There are 12 ecological zones in Pakistan which are rare to the world from desert to Himalayan forests.  But, the lack of interest in environmental protection and population growth has devasted our wildlife and forests.

The PTI government has decided to launch a massive tree plantation drive all over the country after getting a huge success in the Billion Tree Tsunami Project. PM Khan said that the youth would be leading this project.

He added that environmental protection would be made a part of the syllabus in Pakistan.

In the conference, the Prime Minister also spoke about another campaign which is related to the construction of the vertical buildings in the cities. He advises the town planners to be conscious of environmental protection.

IUCN President Zhang Xinsheng praised the government for the Billion tree tsunami project. He also said that he is impressed with the forestation that took place during the last 5 years in KPK.

The IUCN President appreciated the Prime Minister for taking a great many steps to protect the environment.
