Ministry of Energy Power Division Government of Pakistan has announced to initiate a crackdown on the 50 major power defaulters across the country.
The spokesperson of the federal power division said that a list of the country’s top 50 defaulters is prepared and the power distribution companies have been ordered to take the action against all of them.
“Orders have been conveyed to disconnect their power connection unless they start paying the dues,” he said adding that the measure would improve revenue collection from the power sector of the country.
As per the details, the concerned authorities have been directed to submit an implementation report by March 6.
It is worth mentioning here that the authorities have released a list of the names of the defaulters on the official website of the Power Information Technology Company (PITC).
It is to be mentioned here that on February 24, PM Khan has said provision of electricity to the domestic and industrial consumers at a reasonable rate are the foremost priorities of the PTI-led government of Pakistan.
