PM Khan has promised to reduce food prices. He said that his government would be announcing the measures for reducing the prices of the basic food items.
In a series of tweets that PM Khan posted on his social media handle, he said that he understands the issues people are experiencing because of inflation.
The steps he talked about would be decided during a cabinet meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday.
He further said that the government is looking into the matter of the hike in sugar and flour prices.
Inflation in Pakistan has surged to 14.6 per cent in the month of January, a 12-year high. This along with the sugar and flour price surged and higher tariffs on the imported goods have left the consumers in worries over how to make their ends meet.
Prime Minister Imran Khan would also be heading a federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday, where the Hajj policy 2020 would be given approval.
According to sources, the federal cabinet would be taking the decision over the expenses that are to be incurred on the Hajj 2020.
