As many as four cases have been filed against the Vice President of PML-N Maryam Safdar Awan and other political leaders of the party for holding a rally in Faisalabad with the permission of the local administration.
As per the details, the cases were registered against Captain (R) Safdar, former governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair, and the wife of former Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah.
On 21 July, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam, led a rally from Lahore to Faisalabad show her support with detained Rana Sanaullah. She said the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is taking its last breath.
Former Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for allegedly holding and involvement in activities related to drug dealings.
The vice president had also announced to initiate the protest campaign across Pakistan for the release of her father Nawaz Sharif who has been sent to jail in the cases related to corruption. She further said that she would be starting a campaign to restore “the rule of the law” in the country.
